Selecting protective accessories and replacement parts for the instrument
Herolab offers UV protective eyewear, face protection, instrument-specific UV shields, orange filter glasses for blue-light transilluminators, and replacement tubes for transilluminators and UV analysis lamps.
- UV protection: Select protection appropriate to the wavelength and exposure. Blue-light filter glasses are not automatically suitable for UV radiation.
- Replacement tubes: The instrument model, power, wavelength, and catalog number must match.
Protective and filter accessories: catalog numbers
- 29 93 100: UV protective eyewear.
- 29 93 000: UV full-face protection.
- 29 93 150: orange filter glasses for blue light.
- 29 59 298: hinged UV shield for Economy UVT-14 and UVT-22 transilluminators.
- 29 70 098: hinged UV shield for Economy UVT-20 and UVT-28 transilluminators.
These assignments come from the accessories overview dated January 2021. Confirm the model, year of manufacture, mounting arrangement, and current protection markings before ordering. UV protective eyewear does not replace required skin protection or suitable instrument shielding.
Older blue-light versions and LED instruments
The older accessories overview lists BE models UVT-14 BE, UVT-20 BE, and UVT-28 BE with 18 W blue-light tubes. These must be distinguished from LED versions. Tubes and LED light sources are not interchangeable replacement parts; identify the existing instrument configuration before ordering.
Other options for transilluminators
The transilluminator product overview includes RadiCon® converter plates for converting UV to visible light and filter protection plates against mechanical damage. A mechanical filter protection plate does not provide UV protection. Check size and compatibility for the specific instrument.
Information for ordering
Send the model designation, installed tube designation, wavelength, power, and quantity; for older instruments, also include a photo of the nameplate. We check the appropriate configuration before ordering.
