Selecting a vessel
- Check nominal and filling volume, outside diameter and height.
- Match rotor, adapter and closure to the vessel, including centrifuges from other manufacturers.
- Observe the permitted speed and RCF for the specific combination.
- Select material according to the sample, chemicals and operating temperature.
Materials and reuse
Chemical resistance depends on the plastic, sample medium, concentration and temperature. PC is sensitive to many organic solvents and alkaline solutions; PE is not autoclavable.
For PPCO, PC and PF, the catalogue specifies 20 minutes at 121 °C and 103 kPa. Remove closures completely before autoclaving. Repeated autoclaving can reduce mechanical strength. Check vessels for cracks and deformation before each use; do not reuse damaged vessels. Closures and seals are subject to their own material requirements.
